Signup Bonus Bet Advertising Banned in Australia
On 26 May 2019, Comonwealth and State governments through the National Consumer Protection Framework for Online Wagering (NCPF) prohibited bookmakers from being able to advertise signup bonus bets to Australians. Online gambling providers will be restricted from “offering any credit, voucher, reward or other benefit as an incentive to open an account or to refer another person to open an account”.
Although the joys of bonus betting upon signup are now unfortunately something of the past, marketing departments of betting sites now have a budget to offer their existing customers extra bonuses. They are constantly coming up with new promotions which often offer some kind of bonus for the latest racing and sports events. Opening up accounts with multiple betting sites allows you to capture the promotions of each company.
Happy punting.
